LG Primaries: Ife North Concludes Process Without Rancour: Akande, others thank leaders for Support.

The Peoples Democratic Party, Ife North Local Government Chapter on Monday 19th August concluded the processes of electing the democratically elected local government council officials ahead of the 2025 February elections. 

The processes which began a few weeks ago according the the OSSIEC guidelines had witnessed the election of delegates who elected councillors and Chairmanship candidates for the mostly on consensus mode.


Hon. Michael Oluwole Akande was nominated as their preferred candidate by consensus, so also were other ten councillors from all the ten wards of the local government.


The councillors were ratified last Saturday while the Chairman's candidacy was also ratified by all the 30 delegates in the presence of all Wards and Local Government Executives with all leaders and stakeholders in attendance at the program on Monday, 19th August, 2024.


Hon. Michael Oluwole Akande who spoke on behalf of all the elected candidates eulogized the leadership of the party from the ward, local government and state levels for making the process workable one without creating unnecessary friction that would have caused post primary election crises.


He specially thanked the State Chairman for his resolve at ensuring that the party remains united after the primary. He also showered encomium on all members of the State working committee for their dedication, loyalty, support and love for the party and her candidates during the course of the entire process which he said will strengthen the party more, noting how those who contested and graciously accepted the outcome magnanimously without bickering.


Hon. Akande in his final remarks congratulated the executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke on the leadership acumen he provided which has fostered unity in the party than ever before, adding that the successful completion of today's primary election is a pointer to the victory of PDP in future elections beginning from February 2025, 2026 and 2027 by the grace of God.


Akande therefore congratulated all the party members for being patient with the party despite terrible scheming of the opposition but assured them that they will not disappoint the people who trusted them with their mandates.
