OSUN PDP WARNS AGAINST INDISCRIMINATE SUSPENSION OF PARTY MEMBERS,

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has warned all Ward Chairmen in the state to stop indiscriminate suspension, threats and unauthorized disciplinary decisions against members that don’t being to the same group with them.

The State Chairman of the party made this statement in Osogbo recently in an official letter addressed to all Ward Chairmen, All Local Government Chairmen and all Party Leaders in Osun State, saying that such action may cause the party the expected victory in future elections because it could lead to depopulation of the party.

The letter reads.

“WARNING AGAINST UNAUTHORISED ISSUANCE OF LETTER OF SUSPENSION AGAINST PARTY MEMBERS FOR ASPIRING FOR PARTY POSITION AND FREE ASSOCIATION AS ENSHRINED IN THE CONSTITUTION OF FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND OUR PARTY PDP

I want to bring to your notice that there have been series of reports of harassments, intimidations, suspension and expulsion threat against some individuals and group of individuals who are associating with people who that can help them realize their ambition especially since the National Headquarters of our party released the timetable and guideline for Ward Congress in Osun State.

You are hereby warned to desist from such act, as nobody is empowered to restrict, hinder or suspend any individual or group of people or members of the party from associating with whoever they decide to associate with, neither does anybody possess the right to stop them from aspiring for any party position in as much as they has purchased nomination forms for purpose of contesting for one position or the other in the forthcoming wards congress.

It is therefore pertinent that every officer , and organ of the party should get a copy of the constitution and guidelines for congresses to guide their future action and avoid going against the law. They must also know that such action if taken or purportedly taken is ultra vires, null and void and of no effect . Nobody should take any action that will have negative effects our the chances of our party in the future elections.
