South West PDP: Adeleke, Makinde resolve issue on substantive NVC replacement.
The Executive Governors of Osun and Oyo States, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Engineer Seyi Makinde respectively may have finalized arrangements on the inauguration of the replacement of the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the South West.
According to Governor Ademola Adeleke in an interactive session with the Media today in his Office at Osogbo while intimating the people of his visit to Governor Makinde in Ibadan, the Governor said he branched off to see his counterpart, Engineer Seyi Makinde of Oyo State at the Governor's Office, Agodi, Ibadan and incidentally he met the Governor and his Executives in a meeting.
Governor Adeleke added that "the Oyo State Governor therefore invited me to chair the executive session which I did to the admiration of the Oyo State Executive."
Governor Adeleke added that "Governor Seyi Makinde declared his support for the choice of Engineer Kamorudeen Ajisafe, who is the the Osun State leaders' nominee to replace the late National Vice Chairman of PDP, Hon. Clement Olasoji Adagunodo who died in May, 2023 after a brief illness.
According to Governor Adeleke, "Governor Makinde told us at the meeting that he has nothing against the nominee of Osun State, Engineer Kamorudeen Ajisafe."
"Governor Makinde also reiterated his commitment to the unity of the party and promised to work with me and the incoming National Vice Chairman and the Zonal Executive of the party for the progress of PDP in the South West in particular and in Nigeria as a whole."
Governor Adeleke was elated to have the support of Osun State media behind his government by thanking them profusely for being apolitical and unbiased in doing their business, notably for being conscientious in what he called investigative journalism in spite of all verbal and media attacks and denigration on his person and his government by members of the opposition.
Governor Adeleke prayed for the families of Osun Media practitioners, members of his executive, most importantly,the people of Osun State who showered praises on him during a phone-in live radio program while he was holidaying in Bangkok, Thailand, adding that "the whole world will celebrate you and your children greater than how you are doing for me and my administration."
Governor Adeleke's popularity also soared again today at the old garage through LAMECO where he went to inspect the progress of works on the dualisation of the road.
When contacted Engineer Kamorudeen Ajisafe, the National Vice Chairman designate also affirmed the meeting of the two leaders of PDP in the South West and their plans to have his seamless inauguration as the National Vice Chairman of PDP soon, he however, added that "no definite date has been picked but I hope that it will be very soon by the grace of Almighty Allah since what looks like impediment has become very clear and was made known to all by the two leaders today."
It will be recalled that Governor Ademola Adeleke travelled out of the country on vacation the same week that the inauguration ought to have taken place and Governor Seyi Makinde was also involved in the off-season governorship election in Bayelsa State and both leaders then agreed to have the inauguration when Governor Ademola Adeleke comes back to the country.
