Condolence Message: Osun Deputy Speaker Eulogizes Late Olubadan, Oba Dr. Moshood Olalekan Balogun.

I write to commiserate with H.E. Engr. Gov. Seyi Makinde, the immediate family of Oba Dr. Moshood Olalekan Balogun, Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council, and the people of Ibadanland on the transition of Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan.
Kabiyesi lived a legendary life and his impact was felt in all areas. Apart from his rise to become the Olubadan, Oba. Olalekan Balogun was a thoroughbred politician who desired to change the narrative of political representation of his state and country.
Also, Kabiyesi was an avid researcher and academic whose publications are panacea to the problems plaguing the nation. Chief among his works are; Review of Nigeria's 4 years’ Development Plan, 1970–1974; Social Justice or Doom; Power for Sale; and Arrogance of Power.
Oba. Balogun’s rich love for culture and social transformation was evident at the 16th Convocation ceremony of Lead City University, Ibadan where Oba. Balogun was conferred with the esteemed Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science, Public Administration (Honoris Causa) which I was privileged to attend.
I wish Kabiyesi the best with his forebears. May his spirit continue to advocate for the development of Ibadan, Southwest states, and Nigeria.
Signed:
Rt. Hon. Akinyode OYEWUSI
Deputy Speaker,
Osun State House of Assembly
