International Youth Day: Progressing through Technology - Osun Deputy Speaker Asserted.

With Nigerian youths making up 70% of the population—amounting to 171 million according to an October 2022 report by Vanguard newspaper—they have consistently set the pace and carved out a unique identity on the global stage.

From the viral coinages (phrases) like “ Dem neva see me coming,” to “Shey you dey whine me ni,” “Just dey play,” “Something hooge,” “Sope otilo,” “Dem don dey carry me go wia I no know,” and “No gree for anybody,”_ Nigerian youths have shown remarkable resilience and ingenuity in driving the growth of our nation.

As we celebrate this year's International Youth Day with the theme From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,  it's clear that our youths are poised to lead the charge toward accelerated national development through technology.

"In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can." - Nikos Kazantzakis

Happy International Youth Day!

Signed:
Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi
