Ekiti PDP Leaders Meet In Abuja, Emphasize Unity Ahead of State Congresses.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State met in Abuja today to discuss the upcoming party congresses.

The meeting, presided over by the state Caretaker Chairman, Chief Dare Adeleke, was attended by other prominent party leaders, including former National Assembly members.

The closed-door meeting, which lasted over five hours, was reportedly called by the national leadership of the party.

Speaking after the meeting, Southwest Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati, stated that the aim of the meeting was to re-energize the party and position it for success in future elections.

Those in attendance included former Minority Leader of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Chief (Mrs.) Biodun Olujimi; Senator Duro Faseyi; Pastor Kehinde Agboola; Hon. Segun Adekola; Hon. Oladimeji; Hon. Yemi Arokodare.

Others leaders in attendance included former PDP State Chairman, Barr. Georgie Gboyega Oguntuase; Chief Mosu Aguda; Hon. Dr. Omotoso; Otunba Yinka Akerele and Hon. Kayode Adaramodu.

Also present at the meeting were 2022 Governorship aspirants which include Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun and Prince Peter Obafemi.

Members of the CTC committee present included Hon. Olanipekun and Hon Ademola.

Chief Atofarati said "the meeting focused on the importance of unity within the party ahead of the Ward, LG and state congresses. The leaders stressed the need to work together to ensure the party's success in future elections.

The meeting was viewed as a positive step towards building a stronger and more united PDP in Ekiti State.

"We also discussed strategies for strengthening the party and expanding its membership in the state," Chief Atofarati added.
