SECOND YEAR ANNIVERSARY: OYEBOWALE EULOGIZES ADELEKE, HARPS ON TAX HARMONIZATION AND CITIZENS COOPERATION.

A notable leader of the Peoples Democratic Party from Ife North Local Government, Prince Bola Oyebowale, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Tax Practitioner, who is also a member of Osun Internal Revenue Service, has eulogized the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke for his exemplary performance and delivery of notable dividends of democracy and payment of infrastructural deficits that the state has suffered from in the past.

According to a detailed analysis of the various facets of governance that have been touched by the Senator Ademola Adeleke-led administration, Prince Bola Oyebowale said it is unbelievable that a Governor could do all what Governor Ademola Adeleke did in less than two years of his stay in power.

REVENUE GENERATION AS CATALYST TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT

According to Prince Oyebowale, "Governor Adeleke has beaten his critics to the game by taking the bull by the horns in the under listed critical areas of development in Osun State, revenue generation, blocking of capital flight and adequate welfare for citizenry. 

In his words of exhortation, Prince Bola Oyebowale said "I implore every stakeholder, employed and self-employed masses in Osun State to know that Gov. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is really impatient towards turning every local government into a city of its own, as you can see from the spread of infrastructural development in all the local governments of the state within two years of his administration."

"It is sufficing to say all the socioeconomic developments would not have been achieved if not for increase in Internally Generated Revenue and prudence in his governance." 

"I can say unequivocally that increase in revenue is synonymous to the provision of good roads, putting drugs in the hospitals, rehabilitation of schools, employment of more teachers into public schools, public health care system, payment of new minimum wage, salaries, gratuities and pensions and availability of all good things of life to the citizenry."

What the citizens can do, to encourage His Excellency to do more, is to pay their taxes, rates and levies regularly. The government's tax administrative policy has made tax payment convenient for the taxpayers especially in the areas of harmonized bills such that they don't see various kinds of tax collectors or government agents coming to knock at their doors. The harmonized bill, a one-stop centre demand notice, encompassing all yearly levies, rates and bills resolves this. It is expected that if you can't pay once, you can pay your bills in reasonable installments. 

"I make bold to say that we at OIRS appreciate the two years of Governor Ademola Adeleke and all the progress made so far which I have been an impetus galvanizing Revenue Generation. When tax is replicated by provisions of social amenities, people, regardless of pains associated with tax payment, joyfully and willingly respond positively to tax payments.

"I therefore implore the larger number of the employed people of the state that are yet to respond to their civic duty, to without delay, start paying their taxes and levies. When you pay, you are saying Mr Governor we appreciate the great jobs you are doing, continue to do more infrastructural developments in the state."

The Professional Tax Officer added "I also want to assure you that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke has lived by his promise of "Osun money for Osun people" and he will not deviate from these important electoral promise, he has also ensured that whatever income that are generated by Osun people are used by and for Osun people.

NO ABANDONED PROJECTS, NO CAPITAL FIGHTS

Abandoned Projects by previous administration are being completed. New contracts awarded by Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke were awarded to Osun indigenous contractors, who were buying all materials from Osun traders. This policy has ensured the inflation of the State's economy. The results are being felt by the traders through an increase in the volume of their trading activities. This eliminated Capital Flights which was the bane of Osun development before this government took over the administration of the state"

WORKER'S WELFARE.

The Governor started fulfilling his electoral promises by ensuring that worker's welfare was given priority from the day one of his government, by paying their salaries and allowances regularly, leave bonuses restored, promotion and monetization of same is not ignored as it used to be before he came into power. Retiree's emoluments and allowances including humongous half salary arrears owed both serving and retired civil servants are regularly being offset.

CONVERSION OF CASUAL WORKERS TO PERMANENT STAFF

"Governor Ademola Adeleke, according to Prince Oyebowale, has also touched lives of workers of the State owned Broadcasting Corporation, (OSBC) by changing their status to that of permanent staff from being freelancers. He added that the Governor has also purchased modern digital equipment for the state owned radio and television stations making them all digitally compliant from the traditional analogue module which has been hitherto at her establishment by the first civilian executive governor of the State, Late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke."

EDUCATION

At both primary and secondary school levels, the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, and the Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM respectively, have been able to increase the number of classrooms and other facilities in government owned schools. This resultantly has astronomically increased enrollment of out-of-school-children in the state. Additionally, all the state owned tertiary institutions are now getting regularly their subvention which has enhanced their optimal functionality.

HEALTH SECTOR

"The Primary Health Care Centers in Osun State is another high level of achievement for this administration. According to available records, 200 Pivotal PHCs have been rebranded, rehabilitated and fully equipped with water and Solar power in less than 200 days."

INFRA PROJECTS

"It's no gain saying that Osun was practically backward in terms of road networks and other infrastructural facilities leaving a huge deficits before the advent of the Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration, the government is completing more than 30 out of the 45 kilometers of roads across the state under two years (at 1.5 kilometers per local government). The RAAMP is not resting on its oars too as a serious revolutionary trend is sweeping across all nooks and crannies of Osun State with more than I50 kilometers of roads being constructed across both urban and rural communities with overhead bridges in Osogbo and Ile-Ife simultaneously." 

Prince Oyebowale therefore gave kudos to the listening Governor for doing well for the people of Ife North Local government for the extension of developments to the area, particularly grateful to the Governor for breaking the jinx of rehabilitating and tarring the Akinlalu township road from Ashipa junction. A road that has been abandoned for over 44 years by all previous administrations (military and Civilian)." 

"Thank you Your Excellency, Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for doing it right according to your electoral promises. “Imole ti de, Okunkun ti parade!” Yeah Imole All the way!

CONCLUSION

In his final words of exhortation, Prince Bola Oyebowale said "I Prince Bola Oyebowale wish to implore the good people of Osun State to be mindful of deceitful politicians who came, saw all these infrastructural decadences and did nothing when they had the ample opportunities to do the needful. When they come tell them, the light has shine, darkness cannot prevail again in Osun State. One Good Term, surely deserves Another.
