Osogbo, June 15, 2025.

The Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs in Osun State, Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, has congratulated all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Council Chairmen and Councillors across Osun State on their well-earned victory at the Appeal Court.

Aare Asejere, who is also the Aare Gbadero of Ifon Orolu Kingdom and Chairman of the Forum of Osun Commissioners, hailed the judgment as a strong affirmation of the people’s mandate and a bold rejection of political illegality.

“The Appeal Court’s ruling is a victory not just for the PDP, but for democracy itself,” he stated. “It validates the choice of the people and confirms the illegitimacy of the All Progressives Congress' unlawful occupation of council secretariats.”

He emphasized that the decision reaffirms the rule of law and strengthens the foundation of local governance in Osun State, noting that “this is a moment of joy for every democrat and every citizen who cherishes justice and fairness.”

Aare Asejere commended the resilience of the elected local government officials and lauded the judiciary for defending truth and legality.
