APPEAL COURT: AKINLEYE SALUTES GOVERNOR ADELEKE FOR EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, has applauded the landmark judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, which on Friday reaffirmed the legitimacy of the February 22, 2025 local government elections and nullified the controversial 2022 poll conducted under the previous administration.

In a statement released on Friday, Alhaji Akinleye described the verdict as a decisive victory for democracy, justice, and the unwavering will of the good people of Osun State.

"I wholeheartedly applaud and hail the Court of Appeal in Akure for upholding justice and safeguarding the sanctity of our democratic processes in Osun State. This landmark judgment, which has finally laid to rest the controversy over our local government leadership, is a resounding victory for the rule of law and the collective will of our people.

"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our duly elected Local Government Chairmen and Councillors whose mandate has now been firmly validated by this courageous and impartial verdict. This triumph is a clear reminder that truth and justice will always prevail, no matter the obstacles.

"I commend our dynamic Governor, His Excellency Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for his exemplary leadership, calm resolve, and steadfast belief in due process throughout this legal battle. His statesmanship and maturity have kept our state peaceful and focused, even in the face of unwarranted distractions.

"I also salute the entire citizens of Osun State for their patience, resilience, and unflinching support during this period. 

I equally commend the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for standing by the truth and defending the integrity of the local government system when it mattered most.

"Once again, congratulations to all our victorious Chairmen and Councillors. May this renewed mandate inspire greater dedication to service, transparency, and grassroots development for the benefit of every community in Osun State."
