Hon. George Alabi Joins Ojude Oba Celebration in Ejigbo, Hails Installation of Prof. Moses Lino E. Silva as Agbasaga Ogiyan in Diaspora.

In a colourful display of culture and tradition, Hon. George Alabi, Osun State Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, joined sons and daughters of Ejigbo, both at home and abroad, for the annual Ojude Oba Festival, hosted by HRM Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin, the Ogiyan of Ejigbo.

This year’s celebration featured traditional regalia, vibrant cultural performances, and the electrifying presence of Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), who lit up the music stage to the delight of guests.

In his remarks, Hon. George Alabi praised the monarch’s unwavering commitment to preserving Ejigbo’s cultural identity. He described Ojude Oba as a powerful platform to promote unity and pride in heritage.

“Kabiyesi continues to uphold our royal institution with grace and foresight. This year’s festival is special as we witnessed the formal installation of one of our finest sons in the diaspora, Prof. Moses Lino E. Silva as the new Agbasaga Ogiyan in Diaspora,” Hon.George Alabi said.

“I congratulate the new chief and urge him to serve as a bridge for the development and unity between Ejigbo and its diaspora community."

In his royal speech, Oba Oyeyode Oyeyosin commended Ejigbo indigenes for their loyalty and unity, affirming his vision for a more prosperous town.

“The strength of our people lies in unity and honouring our traditions. This installation strengthens our connection with the diaspora and inspires future collaboration,” he said.

Other dignitaries present included Hon. Olujimi Asagade, Member representing Ejigbo in the Osun State House of Assembly, traditional title holders, and notable sons and daughters of the soil.

The event marked by music, dance and homage reaffirmed Ejigbo’s stature as a proud custodian of Yoruba culture.
