OBOKUN PROGRESSIVE CAUCUS INAUGURATES NEW LEADERSHIP, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO A STRONGER PDP IN OBOKUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

The Obokun Progressive Caucus (OPC), a distinguished body of visionary young minds within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), marked a defining moment in its journey today, (Sunday, June 22nd, 2025), as it inaugurated a new set of executives at a grand event held in Ikinyinwa, Obokun Local Government Area.
The occasion was not only ceremonial but deeply symbolic representing a renewal of purpose and a strengthening of resolve towards the continuous advancement of the PDP in Obokun and Osun State at large.
The inauguration of the third administration of the caucus brought together esteemed party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers from across the local government such as Hon Mayowa Adejoorin, Hon Commissioner for Environment and sanitation; Hon Bayo Ogungbangbe, Hon. Commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment; Hon. Prince Diran Odeyemi, Chairman Governing council of OSCOTECH; Hon. Eniola Omotosho, Special Adviser to the Governor on Market Affairs; several SAs to the Governor of Osun State.
In an atmosphere charged with unity and enthusiasm, goodwill messages were delivered by prominent personalities including Hon. (Pastor) Francis Olajire Agboola, Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government; Hon. Adeoti, former Caretaker Chairman of Obokun LCDA; Alhaja Akuruyejo; Elder Ola Ogunromo; Hon. Sola Ojokunle; and Hon. Banji Fayinminu. Each speaker emphasized the strategic role the OPC continues to play in energizing the PDP's structure, grooming competent leaders, and galvanizing support at the grassroots level.
In his inaugural address, the newly sworn-in Coordinator of the Caucus, Hon. Munir Adeyemi, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the founding members, past executives, and all party leaders whose tireless commitment has shaped the caucus into the credible platform it is today.
With the theme, “Moving the Party Forward,” Hon. Adeyemi described the moment as a reawakening of shared responsibility and a bold recommitment to the ideals of the party. He underscored the need for unity across all levels of the party structure and urged all members to see the new mandate not as a reward, but as a call to service anchored on loyalty, sacrifice, and genuine leadership.
The newly inaugurated Coordinator emphasized the caucus's readiness to deepen grassroots engagement, promote internal harmony, and work strategically with party leaders in positioning the PDP as the party of choice in forthcoming electoral contests. He pledged to lead with integrity, transparency, and openness, while also assuring that youth and women inclusion will remain central to the caucus's agenda moving forward.
In line with the commitment of the caucus to building sustainable leadership, Hon. Adeyemi acknowledged the importance of collective efforts in overcoming internal distractions and projecting a united front. He called on every member to close ranks and channel their energy into building structures that win elections not just by chance, but through strategic organization and effective political engagement.
The Obokun Progressive Caucus, which has a remarkable history of producing impactful leaders, including several ward councillors, the current Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, former Caretaker Chairman of Obokun LCDA, former Secretary, Obokun LG, the incumbent Member representing Obokun in the Osun State House of Assembly and many more, reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders for the PDP.
