PDP Leaders, Members in Odo-Otin Rally Behind Speaker Egbedun for Second Term in Enthusiastic Show of Support

Osogbo, June 29, 2025 

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, has secured a strong endorsement for a second term from leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area. 

The support is rooted in his unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of his constituents.

During an empowerment programme held on Saturday at the Okuku Town Hall, Egbedun reaffirmed his dedication to effective representation in the Osun State Parliament. 

He pledged to continue rolling out impactful initiatives designed to alleviate the burdens faced by his constituents.

The event coincided with the celebration of his 40th birthday, where hundreds of residents received cash support and motorcycles. 

Egbedun emphasised that his passion for service is deeply connected to fulfilling his campaign promises and ensuring that the people of Odo-Otin experience a style of representation that promotes growth and development.

He detailed several achievements resulting from his efforts, including the facilitation of road projects, restoration of electricity in rural communities, free healthcare delivery, educational support funds, and the provision of soft loans and grants for small and medium-sized enterprises.

In a royal endorsement, the Olokuku of Okuku, Oba Joseph Oyebamiji, praised Egbedun's leadership, describing it as unprecedented in Odo-Otin's political history. 

He offered prayers for God's continued guidance and blessings upon the Speaker.

Additionally, State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Rasheed Aderibigbe and PDP stalwart, Alhaji Raheem Adeleke, commended Egbedun's "organic representation," noting that his leadership has brought tangible prosperity to the residents of Odo-Otin. 

They unanimously urged party members to prioritise the party's interests and avoid any associations that could impede its progress in the local government area.

Earlier, PDP Chairman in Odo-Otin, Mr. Taiwo Olatunji, praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for the ongoing transformation across the state. 

He also acknowledged Speaker Egbedun for his personal efforts in uplifting the community, citing various empowerment initiatives, including the distribution of cars to party leaders, motorcycles, grinding machines, hair dryers, agricultural tools, and chemicals.

The highlight of the event was the unanimous political endorsement from PDP members and leaders in Odo-Otin, who pledged their support for Egbedun's bid for a second term.

Defying the saying that "a prophet is without honour in his own town," enthusiastic youths and commercial motorcyclists celebrated the Speaker's milestone birthday with jubilant street festivities. 

The event culminated in a well-attended empowerment programme at Okuku Town Hall, where Egbedun showcased his generosity once again by distributing cash gifts and motorcycles, further reinforcing his bond with the community. 

Beneficiaries of the cash support, many of whom were elderly, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Speaker's thoughtful gestures. 

The event was concluded with special prayers for his continued success, adding a vibrant touch to what was widely regarded as a memorable and impactful celebration.
