The leading aspirant for Osun Central Senatorial District, Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, has urged party faithful, stakeholders, and political functionaries within the Osun Central Senatorial District to remain resolute and undistracted in the face of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s rumored defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the Osun Central Senatorial Meeting held at the residence of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola in Okuku, Aare Asejere reassured the gathering that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the party of the people in Osun State. He asserted that the confidence reposed in Governor Adeleke and the PDP is stronger than ever, adding that “the people of Osun will stand against us if we consider jumping ship to the APC.”
Aare Asejere, in a bold and generous gesture, donated the sum of ₦100,000 to each of the 10 Local Governments within Osun Central to support the party structure and sustain mobilization efforts at the grassroots. He emphasized that leadership is not just about ambition but service, sacrifice, and sincerity.
He also praised the leadership of Hon. Sunday Bisi, the Osun PDP Chairman, for steering the party through turbulent times and pledged unwavering support from party stakeholders and public office holders.
On the lingering Local Government crisis in Osun State, Aare Asejere called for proactive measures, advising all political functionaries across the Local Governments to occupy their respective Council Secretariats in order to reestablish the presence of legitimate governance at the grassroots.
He further advocated that the Osun State Government consider obtaining a strategic loan facility to stabilize local governance and sustain essential administrative operations, stating, “Government is a continuum. We must not allow service delivery to suffer because of withheld allocations.”
In promoting inclusiveness, Aare Asejere called for rotational hosting of the senatorial meetings across the 10 Local Governments in Osun Central, pledging financial and logistical support to ensure continuity and wide participation. “These meetings must be funded, and I am ready to contribute my quota alongside other distinguished stakeholders,” he said.
In the same vein, Osun Central Senatorial District stakeholders endorsed re-election.
The meeting witnessed a robust turnout of party stalwarts and political heavyweights including Former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Olu Alabi, Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji, Elder Funsho Isola, Alhaja Tajudeen Oladipo, Hon.
