Good Healthcare delivery is a Priority for Governor Adeleke -Dr. Akindele.

Osogbo, April 23, 2026.

The Special Adviser on Public Health to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Dr. Adekunle Akindele has reiterated the delivery of quality healthcare service for the people of Osun State as a priority of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration. 

Reacting to a recent circulated video of an hospital in Esa-Oke of Obokun local government area of the state. Dr. Akindele said the hospital is one of the dilapidated structures left to deteriorate by the previous administration in the state.

He stated the effort of the government to carryout the revamping of the secondary health facilities with one general hospital in each federal constituencies already identified and designated for renovation, rehabilitation and upgrades by the government with the government team already visited the particular hospital for assessment prior to now.

"Our government is most concerned with delivery of quality healthcare service for the good people of the state and that informs why 200 primary healthcare centres have been renovated and rehabilitated which has earn commendable accolades from certified government and non-governmental organisations across Nigeria and beyond"

"The plan is to move from the primary healthcare facilities renovation to secondary healthcare facilities rehabilitation and the Governor has given approval to carry out this projects in different phases by selecting one General hospital in the nine federal constituencies of the state, an effort that will be continue gradually till all the secondary health facilities are revamped and rehabilitated. 

"The Esa-Oke General hospital is one of the hospitals identified to enjoy this benefits when the project takes off. A government team has already visited the place for assessment and carry out feasibility study on the facility prior to now. It's just quite unfortunate that the past administration in the state left most of these things undone, a mess that Governor Ademola Adeleke has been clearing since he was sworn into office," he asserted.

"This particular hospital is among 37 of such we have in the state that past administration left abandoned, neglected and unattended to but which Governor Adeleke has therefore earmarked for complete overhauling and renovation in different phases."

The Governor's Aide further appreciate the citizen engagement that calls to action what is expected from the government, he however caution from politicising sensitive matters as such. 

"While we appreciate the citizen engagement over the circulated video, it will be totally irresponsible to play politics with such sensitive matters. Health issues is too delicate to be politicised and that's why I implore those who wants to build a political capital out of the situation to look in the mirror before pointing accusing fingers to someone else," he stated.
