OSUN 2026: NO PDP/ACCORD PARTY MEMBER DEFECTED TO APC – WARD 08, UNIT 18, AYEGBAMI
The leadership of the Accord Party, Ward 08, Unit 18, Ayegbami, has noted with concern the misleading reports and deliberate misinformation being circulated regarding the purported defection of members of the PDP/Accord political family to the APC ahead of the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to categorically state that no registered member of the Accord Party within Ward 08, Unit 18, Ayegbami defected to the APC as being falsely portrayed.
It is important to emphasize that every political party operates a structured and verifiable membership system at the Unit, Ward and Local Government levels. Based on our official records and membership register, none of the individuals present at the gathering reportedly held at the residence of Hon. Oriola Kabir Oladipupo is recognized as a registered member of our party structure.
We therefore challenge the organizers and promoters of the said gathering to publicly present verifiable evidence showing the membership status of any individual allegedly defecting from the Accord Party.
What occurred was merely a social gathering being falsely packaged for political propaganda and media optics in an attempt to create an impression of political momentum where none exists.
At this critical stage of Osun’s political journey, no committed and progressive-minded member of the Accord Party would abandon a growing and people-oriented political movement for a party currently struggling with internal dissatisfaction and visible political setbacks.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of Accord Party, Ward 08 Unit 18, Dr. Adeleke Adesanmi reaffirmed that after careful verification of party records, no member of the unit defected to the APC.
According to him:
«“Our unit remains united, focused and stronger than ever. Under the effective leadership and coordination of Alhaji Mustapha Sikiru, our members remain committed and continue to strengthen the structure of the party at the grassroots.”»
The leadership of Ward 08 Unit 18 therefore urges members of the public to disregard the false narrative and remain confident in the strength, unity and growing acceptance of the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 Governorship Election.
Signed:
Accord Party Leadership
Ward 08, Unit 18, Ayegbami
